Making A Good Thing Better!

You know how it feels when something you love gets even better?

  • We taped shows with VCRs . . . then came DVRs!
  • We snacked on oreos . . . then came double stuf!
  • We used coffee makers . . . then came the Keurig!
  • We got warm with grandma’s afghan . . . then came the Snuggie!

Now that’s what we call making a good thing better! And that’s why Kid’s Quest is excited to announce that we’ll be making a change to our current elementary programming that we believe will make it even more impactful. In an effort to continue to provide an engaging and inviting environment for our Kid’s Quest children, we will be moving our Sunday morning 2nd and 3rd Graders up to the 2nd floor and our 4th and 5th Graders down to Floor 1A beginning this Sunday, March 2.

For 2nd-3rd Grade: Our number of 2nd and 3rd Grade small groups have been growing!  This move will increase their small group meeting space, providing them the best small group experience possible.

For 4th-5th Grade: We are working on creating a fresh environment just for our 4th and 5th Graders, including the possible opening of the 1A stage for their own Large Group this fall. This move will give our oldest kids a space to call their own as well as age-specific elements to keep them engaged and to aid them in their transition into Student Ministries for 6th Grade.

Please pray with us that God will continue to bless our community of elementary students and Kid’s Quest volunteers. Pray that this change will foster deeper relationships between them and open up new opportunities to reach each grade with the transforming message of the Gospel. Pray also that God would provide for our volunteer needs: 2nd-3rd Grade Small Group Leaders and 4th-5th Grade Large Group Leaders.

We are confident that this change will make our elementary programming even better and ultimately impact children’s lives for Christ. Should you have any questions about this change, please contact our Director of Elementary, Rosie Pinkerman, at rosie.pinkerman@mcleanbible.org.

Creative Arts Club Enrollment Open

Calling all 1st-6th Grade children who love to SING, ACT, and DANCE! Creative Arts Club (MBC’s Children’s Choir – CAC) is the club for you and is open to new members. CAC meets Sundays at 9:00 am in Room 1410 (1st floor).

CAC is the children’s choir of MBC sponsored by the Creative Arts Ministry. They meet weekly from September through May. It’s a place where children learn how to praise the Lord using their creative talents which includes elements of dance, drama, and singing. There are a number of reasons why participating in CAC may appeal to your family:

  • Your children will have an opportunity to use their creative talents to worship and glorify God.
  • It’s an alternative to repeating Kid’s Quest for families attending the 9:00 am and 10:45 am services back-to-back.
  • With the arts being cut back or eliminated from more and more schools, CAC can be an outlet for children to explore their creativity and perform.
  • Perhaps you have a worship-leader-in-training in your family! Participation in CAC gives your family a peek behind-the-scenes at how a worship service is put together and appreciation for what is involved.

The registration fee is $45 for an individual child or $65 for a family of multiple children. Click here to enroll now. Scholarships are available. Regular attendance is required. Registration closes Oct. 20.
