We Want To Help!

We want every child who walks through our doors to have a positive experience at McLean Bible Church where they can learn and grow. If you are the parent of a child with special needs, this is a concern you probably face daily – Will my child be comfortable in his environment? Will she be accepted by her peers? Will he be cared for appropriately? These are important concerns we in Kid’s Quest want to help you with.

If you have a child with special needs* who you feel should be able to participate in Kid’s Quest, we have a intake process we would like you to partake in. We have been testing this intake process with a few elementary families and are pleased to roll it out more formally now for all of our Kid’s Quest families.

Our intake process includes completion of a form (links below) to share with us your child’s specific needs and conversations with a Kid’s Quest leader to discuss how our programming works, potential challenges that may arise, and accomodations that can be made to help your child receive appropriate care, learn about Jesus, and have fun with peers.

If coming to Kid’s Quest for the first time, you will be asked to accompany your child for the day while we initiate the intake process. This enables us to prepare our leaders appropriately for when you return. As most of you reading this are likely already attending Kid’s Quest, this would not apply to you. But we do highly encourage you to complete the intake form if it applies, even if you’ve been attending Kid’s Quest for several years. Good communication between us strengthens our ability to partner successfully to make an impact on your child’s spiritual growth.

Promotion Weekend

Promotion Weekend is Here!

Little Adventurers who are or will be 3 years old by September 30, 2012 through completed 4th graders move up to new classes THIS WEEKEND, July 7/8.

Family Enrollment Forms: If MBC is your church home and you have not previously enrolled, go to mbctysons.org/kqenroll and click on the link for the online enrollment or pick up a Family Enrollment Form at check-in. Not sure if you’re enrolled? If you are already enrolled you should have a permanent plastic key tag with your emergency LED (Lighted Electronic Display) number on it. The LED number is how we notify you during services of an emergency involving your child – memorize it! If you just need to update your family’s current info (new address, addition to the family, change in health concerns, etc.), pick up a Family Update Card at check-in or go to mbctysons.org/kqenroll to download and print one to return to a Greeter at check-in.

Class Location Maps: Your child may be moving to a new floor. Pick up a map at check-in stations to be sure of where you’re headed. If you need assistance getting to your new location, ask a Check-in Greeter for an escort.

Elementary Small Groups: If your Kindergarten through 5th Grade child is already enrolled and you consistently attend a service time, your child can be placed in a permanent Small Group (meeting with the same leader and children every week). Go to our Enrollment Page to register online or pick up a Small Group Registration Form from your child’s leader this weekend. Please note that it can take 6-8 weeks to form new groups.
