Kid’s Quest And The Rock Partner in Missions Project January 17, 2009

“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” -Matthew 25:40
Meet Jackie (pictured above). She started an orphanage in her home in the Domincan Republic to rescue at-risk, homeless children, many of whom are victims of serious abuse. Jackie provides a home, Biblical teaching, and basic necessities.
This month Kid’s Quest is partnering with The Rock Student Ministries to support Jackie’s orphanage. If you attended services in December, you may already be aware that The Rock committed to raising funds for this orphanage at their New Year’s Aid event on December 31. Together, our goal is to raise $50,000 to be used in the following ways:
-
Food – to supplement the orphanage’s meager food rations with meat.
-
Transportation – to aid in purchasing a van for the children to be transported to the park.
-
Education – to purchase much-needed school supplies, Bibles, and spiritual materials for each child at the orphanage .
-
Housing – to help the orphanage with their monthly rent and purchasing newer bunk beds and other furnishings for the children.
-
Special Needs Ministry – to provide funds for the orphanage to purchase newer wheel chairs and equipment for their many special needs children.
Please take a moment to share with your children what their offering gifts are being used for this month and pray together for this ministry. Also, this July, our high school students will be traveling to the Dominican Republic on a missions trip to visit the orphanage. Pray also for the students who will be participating in this mission trip and the children they will impact.
Project Generosity 2008 January 12, 2009

In December 2008 we challenged our children live out their December virtue of Generosity: making someone’s day by giving something away, through Project Generosity. Project Generosity was to support an MBC Ministry, the Daily Bread Food Pantry, through the collection of both children’s offering and food items. We are excited to share with you that our children raised $1808.11 which will go a long way in providing food for those in need in our church and local commuity. Please let your children know how their offering is being used and pray as a family for all who will be impacted by their generous gifts.
