Posted by rshort in : 1-Hot News , comments closedINNER VIEW IS MOVING – Heads up! We’ll be moving to a new Wordpress server soon and this blog’s address will change. We are anticipating the new address to be kqinnerview.com. We are still waiting on news of the address being confirmed and when the switch will be made. Watch for updates. We are not sure how those on email subscription or RSS feed will be impacted yet. If you stop receiving weekly posts from us, we will have an update on the Kid’s Quest webpage on how to reconnect.
CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEA – Give the gift of quality family time! Family Times Virtue packs make great gifts or stocking stuffers. THE BOOKstore is currently selling previous month’s Family Times Virtue Packs for a discount – only $7.50 each. Packs are timeless and relevant for use at any time. They include bedtime Bible story cards, meal time discussion questions, a CD with music & an audio drama, and notecards to put in your kid’s lunch bags. KEEP YOUR COMMITMENT – The holidays are coming and in order to keep our nurseries open we need all parents to keep their nursery rotation commitments. Please contact us if you need to switch dates or service times: 703-639-2000, x3102 or saturdaynurseryrotation@mcleanbible.org or sundaynurseryrotation@mcleanbible.org.
STROLLER/WALKING POLICY — In our nurseries, if a child is continuously crying, our volunteers occassionally walk or stroll with your child outside of the room in an attempt to calm them down. Volunteers have a pre-determined path for doing this and we keep track of where everyone is. If you would prefer your child not leave the room for this reason, please let the door greeter at the room know and make a note of this on the sign-in sheet.
FOR 4th/5th GRADERS – On Sunday, January 10, at 10:10 am we will be holding a special Starting Zone Start Your Engines class exclusively for 4th-5th Graders and their parents. Bring Your Bricks Back! November 20, 2009

Don’t forget to have your elementary children bring their brick boxes back with them to class this weekend, November 21/22.
The offering for Jill’s House will be collected together and then the children will be directed to build a wall with their bricks to illustrate the concept that God calls individuals to cooperate together to do something more than they can alone.
For more info about Jill’s House visit their website at www.jillshouse.org or stay in touch with the latest building updates and pictures on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/jillshouse.
Missions Project Update November 15, 2009
Posted by rshort in : 3-Missions Projects , comments closedHere is an update on our June-September missions projects:
Our June missions project supported World Relief, Child Survival: Burundi. We collected $607.49. Click here to learn more about the program our gift supports.

Our July offering went towards supporting soldiers overseas through Operation Kindness. We collected $309.18. Click here to learn more about where our gift goes.
In August, we shared about serinvg in downtown Washington D.C. to help clean up schools. Here is a message from Rachael Jankowsky of the DC Schools Project Team:
Dear MBC,
Over the past week the DC Schools Project team has gotten several questions as to how the outreach went and so we wanted to update you. This year we had over 450 volunteers serve at 58 schools all over The District. Our volunteers served alongside community members, teachers, administrators and students as they spruced up DC Public Schools for the start of the school year. Our volunteers were armed with promo cards advertising all MBC/FL campuses and services times, and a business-sized card used as a tool for sharing the Gospel. Our volunteers also all had the option of going through a training guide of how to be effective in sharing their faith. Thanks to everyone from all of our different campuses and from all different ministry areas for getting the word out and for helping to make this year’s DC Schools Project a success. Not only is this event preparing DC for an MBC campus and reaching out to people in the name of Jesus, it is also challenging and equipping our community at MBC to live out their faith every day! Thanks again for all of your help and support this year.

Our August-September missions project supported Operation Christmas Child. We collected/assembled 410 boxes and received $1368.50 which was used to help with buying extra supplies and paying for shipping. This week, November 16-23, Operation Christmas Child distrubution centers are collecting all the boxes to ship. While we are no longer collecting boxes in Kid’s Quest, you can click here to find the distribution center closest to you if you wish to still participate. Thank you to the 75 volunteers who helped on Assembly Day and to the Frontline Small Group who has volunteered to deliver our boxes to the distribution center. Continue to pray for the children who will receive our gifts and that the Gospel message will transform their lives.
