Posted by rshort in : 1-Hot News , comments closed
Do you make an annual New Year’s resolution to spend more quality time with your family and then struggle to keep it? Sometimes we have the best of intentions but the busyness of life often gets in the way. Consider using Family Times Virtue Packs as a tool to help you keep that promise in 2010. The materials are designed to fit into your family’s natural patterns and don’t require special scheduling or extra prep work for y0u.
And starting this weekend, January, 2/3, a special edition of the Family Times Virtue Pack will be available for purchase. This month we’ll be teaching 5 faith skills in elementary classes. Faith skills are spiritual habits that help children to establish a lifestyle of pursuing a relationship with God. To highlight the 5 faith skills, the January Family Times Virtue Pack is packaged in an exciting, new way!
The CD has been enhanced so that parents and kids can play it on a computer! Special new features on the CD include:
- An overview PDF of the Five Faith Skills
- Memory verse cards
- Coloring pages
- Downloadable MP3 audio files of KidJam, Parenting Matters, and the monthly virtue song
- Downloadable MorningTime cards and BedTime stories (in addition to the normal printed versions)
- Downloadable Meal Time placemats, which include a new “Family Challenge” activity to encourage application of the virtue (the downloadable Meal Time placemat replaces the printed Meal Time card)
New packs come out monthly to coincide with the same virtue being taught in elementary classes. These are special features just for January! Available in THE BOOKstore for $10 each. Previous months packs are currently on sale while supplies last for $7.50. Packs are timeless and can be used at any time and independent of attending Kid’s Quest.

Sneak Peek! December 18, 2009

What If…
What if the primary mission of the church is not to help the family and the number one priority of the family is not to go to church?
What if they are both designed to work together to show a generation who God is?
IT’S NOT EITHER / OR.
IT’S BOTH / AND.
The world may be “going green” but in Kid’s Quest, we’re going ORANGE. Early next year, Kid’s Quest will be launching a new logo to reflect our ministry philosophy to bring church and family together for a child’s spiritual growth. We believe that two combined influences can make a greater impact than just two influences working independently. So as we end 2009 and are writing our ministry’s goals for 2010, we’re looking for ways to THINK ORANGE. Church leaders who THINK ORANGE…
- Engage parents in an integrated strategy
- Synchronize the home and church around a clear message
- Provoke parents and kids to fight for their relationship with each other
- Recruit mentors to become partners with families
- Mobilize the next generation to be the church
When you THINK ORANGE, you rethink the way you do ministry for children. Why the color ORANGE? What does it mean to THINK ORANGE? Watch for our official logo launch in early 2010 to find out! Here’s a sneak peek at the new logo:

Can’t wait? Want to know more now? Pick up Think Orange by Reggie Joiner in THE BOOKstore or online to learn the Biblical basis for our approach to ministry and guidance on how to develop your children to be fully devoted followers of Christ.
Give The Gift Of Quality Family Time December 14, 2009

Most parents want to raise children with good character and values. Many struggle to find the time and the means to get the job done. Where do you start? What do you say? How much time will it take?
Family Times Virtue Packs are designed to help equip parents with easy-to-use tools to make the most of everyday moments together. These tools are based on the biblical model that teaches that the home should be the primary place where a child learns about God.
Here’s what the bible says to parents about teaching virtues to their children…”Impress them upon your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up,” (Deuteronomy 6:7). Family Times Virtue Packs provide activities to be used once a week during each of these four family times – Meal Time, Drive Time, Bed Time, and Morning Time. All of this is designed to give parents simple ways to help their kids grow in faith and character.
The resources you will find in the Virtue Pack are designed to be strategically placed within your home as reminders of a specific virtue and its related principles each month. They should be placed in the location that corresponds with the time they are to be used. These pieces will be constant reminders to you and your children and help you to prioritize each of the four family times. As you go through the virtue pack you will notice that it introduces you to all the pieces and explains the concepts in more detail.
The plan is based on the Hebrew method of teaching children found in Deuteronomy 6:7. It helps parents reprioritize four significant times that are routinely within every home: Bed Time, Meal Time, Drive Time, and Morning Time. The tools included do not involve preparation nor do they have to be pulled off a book shelf. They are used during the four significant family times. Each tool reinforces one of the four times of day, and helps the parent maximize their time and fulfill their intended role (counselor, teacher, friend or coach).
New packs come out monthly to coincide with the same virtue being taught in elementary classes. Available in THE BOOKstore for $10 each. Previous months packs are currently on sale while supplies last for $7.50. Packs are timeless and can be used at any time and independent of attending Kid’s Quest. These make great stocking stuffers and family Christmas gifts!
Children’s Book Signing December 10, 2009
Posted by rshort in : 4-Events , add a commentPrayers for Puppies

BOOK DETAILS:
Madeleine Morris of Potomac, Maryland, was 10 years old when in the summer of 2008 she contracted Lyme Disease and meningitis, and became very ill. During her recuperation, she was confined to bed for weeks. She believes that God used this difficult time in her life and inspired her to write Prayers for Puppies about Him. The Ten Commandments are presented in “puppy dialect” by Clover and Emma, the Morris’ two Boston Terriers. Engaging color photos of the dogs capture the reader’s attention and heart. Maddie hopes young children will read her book and that their faith in God will be strengthened through her story. At the time Maddie wrote this book she was a Kid’s Quest attendee and now attends The Rock Student Ministries.
BOOK SIGNING EVENT DETAILS:
Books cost $16 each. Book sales and signing will be during the 6:30 pm service on Saturday, December 12 and 9:00 am, 10:45 am, & 12:30 pm services on Sunday, December 13 in the lobby area of THE BOOKstore.
