“They have lots of silly stories!” – Daniel
“Because there are lots of fun songs!” – Olivia

“I love KIDstuff because I like all the crazy activities and especially the songs. And, my brother is in it – I like watching him and cheering him on.” – Sarah

KIDstuff is this Sunday, May 2, at 12:30 pm in the Smith Center. Bring your family and friends for some ice cream-themed fun as well as a lesson in the virtue of patience, waiting until later for what you want now, through the Bible story of Esau.

And don’t forget our special treat!
Wear your KIDstuff t-shirt to KIDstuff on May 2 and be one of the first 100 people to present yourselves to Clubhouse Corner (Smith Center lobby) to receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone from McDonald’s!

Have You Been Checked? April 23, 2010

Did you know that we serve over 1600 children every weekend? As you hopefully already know about us, we strive to provide a place for all these children that is educational, engaging, and safe.
McLean Bible Church is in the process of implementing a new child protection policy whereby all church staff and volunteers who interact with children will be required to consent to a background check. This policy has been created to protect all children under our care to the fullest possible degree as well as to comply with precautions mandated by our insurance company. While we regret that we live in a time where this level of protection has become required, we hope that you are encouraged that we take your child’s safety seriously.
An overflow of the implementation of this policy is that everyone who serves as a volunteer on the nursery rotation is now required to consent to a background check as well. Since all Kid’s Quest parents are requested to serve on the rotation, unless they are already serving as a regular Kid’s Quest or Access Ministry volunteer elsewhere, this means every parent needs to complete this by May 1.
Background check consent forms are available online HERE as well as by paper copy if requested. We recommend completing the form online for maximum personal security. You will need your MBC online User ID and password to complete the form online. If you do not already have an online profile created, you will be prompted to create one before proceeding. Please note that a consent form is needed for each parent serving. That means each parent needs to create their own account and submit their own background check. If you have forgotten your login info, click on the “Account Help” button to have that info emailed to you.
We want to assure you that we take your privacy and security very seriously and that the information in the background check is completely confidential. The info only goes to the company that conducts the background check – it is never visible to MBC staff or affiliated with your MBC information. Neither will staff without approved access be able to view the results of completed background checks.
Thank you for your understanding as we move forward with procedures to improve our protection of your children. Click here for more detailed information. If you have concerns or trouble with the form, contact Julie Daniel at 703-770-2989 or julie.daniel@mcleanbible.org.
